Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce,
Legends & Lore Miniatures,
120mm Resin

I haven't painted a 120mm figure in ages but I always wanted to do this figure. Unfortunately I never got around to acquiring it before it stopped being produced. This year Jose at Custom Dioramics re-released the Legends & Lore line (Thanks Jose!) and Chief Joseph was quickly in my hands.

It's a well sculpted figure and was very enjoyable to paint. I did add some additional cording in a couple of places and also added a feather decoration to the pipe.

Painted in acrylics.

Thanks for looking, take care and stay safe.

Hi Ken

Great to see this released , it's a nice figure

You've certainly painted the piece well , like the stripes the flesh tones all complimented by the groundwork

Why not enter a piece into FOTM as well as voting in previous month , don't forget we have a Vignette & Diorama comp running till March 2021

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Awesome work Ken! Love the buckskin shirt and the beading.(y) The blanket skirt is executed well. Flesh tones spot on! And your improvements to the figure make it even more stunning. Thank you for sharing your work! Would love to see you and your work in Atlanta one February:)

Does anyone out there have an extra Series 77 Western Spur from the 90mm American Series kits. I am painting the Western Sheriff and dropped a spur into the carpet. The type of spur was used on all the western figures done by Series 77 in 90MM
Bounty Hunter
Western Sheriff
Trail Boss
Gambler
Gunfighter

The ones with the big rowel? I lost it last weekend and well, I have done everything but take up the carpet. Can anyone help me out please?

The images were showing when I viewed this morning but have now disappeared.

Am I the only one?

Bill

Now got them again, must be my poor internet speed.
Very well painted and a great subject. Love the blanket.

Thanks Bill. I noticed the same thing just now. I think it's related to the web site I use for storing all my online photos. They might be having issues or planned maintenance. I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Sorry Terry, I did have a couple extras but one of the kits i bought on ebay was missing them and I used them.

Ken, that is excellent! The face is beautifully done, and the whole figure is very impressive, as befits such a famous Native American. Quite a departure from your 40mm stuff.

Ken, beautiful work all around. Just got through with a great read: "The Earth is Weeping" by Peter Cozzens about the Indian Wars for the West. Chief Joseph was well represented.
