Great. I like the pattern on the shield. Have you ever thought about to paint the ship in different colour as one can see on the carpet of Bayeux?

Ulrich

The truth is that no, because although I've never seen this on sewn fabric, and second, but would lose the whole whole because it simply will confuse the eye with so many colors.
However Thanks

Very nice work Alex. I think you resolved it very well.

As particular points that (just in my own opinion) I could do in othrer way...

first the shild. That blue has too much light and bright than the rest of the scene, in my opinion that make two faces of the same coin. Looks like one miniature by the front and another one by the back. So, the blue brokes you the atmosphere. You used the red-green-yellow color triangle as the principal base of your work, so to use that blue in that high surface as the shield is a wrong (imo) and you could used it in a very small detail as touch of color, but not in a larger surface. So you could resolved it so much better using reddish brown, dark red, dark green... even a pattern of red and green stripes or any other neutral color.

Other thing is the clean. For me that guy is too clean. Very nice... but too clean.

And the last point. I should forced a little bit more the contrast between lights and shadows... but this is a very personal taste.

Anyway, they're minor points from "what I would did". You make a great work here mate!

Thank you all for your comments and observations and will certainly be missed account of any comments.
Alex, Thank you for your comments and maybe you're right for the tricolor to which it relates.
But a photograph is a photographer and not the reality of how bright the shield is painted or the whole overall between light and shadow. Now the blue I went out to fit more with the color of the cape and the wood seems like the back of the photo.
However if at some time or some exposure to closely watch it in its present form, the result will be different from what we see today ...(y)

Thanks

Alexandros
