Hi Marc
If you realy want to do something different from fantasy, there are two directions you can go...
A. A figure that could be totally different to the colourfull and imaginative metal painted fantasy like a US, Britsh, Italian, Spanish, Russian and even some of the German figures based in the modern wars since the turn of the 20th century...... (there could be some good choices in this area)
OR
B. A figure that has a vast array of colours and unusual metals to paint, such as a Samurai, South American Indians, Greeks, Romans, Hopolites even some Napoleonics....
So the choice is totally up to you, but one suggestion is to take a look at some of the reports from some of the shows, if you see a figure you like, you only have to ask anyone on here, as to who made it, if it is a commercial piece and you will no doubt get your answer and probably how much it is to buy and where to get it from.....
So the figuring world is your oyster....... so to speak
