Just popping my ten pence worth - I too have had inconsistent results with mig ammo lucky super matt, its seems to airbrush on fine but not brushed on.

W.

The Mig Lucky Varnish works OK if it is put on very sparingly, or used to thin the paint. On the other hand it was a disaster for me when I airbrushed it!

I use VMS varnish which has the benefit of being both super flat and fool proof

Not actually tried that, but it's what works for the individual, there must be something like that because I doubt the big companies would sell something so inconsistent.

Most of my model making is AFVs, I also do a fair few aircraft. I’ve tried most of the varnishes in the market and settled on VMS, their satin goes on thick and leaves a beautiful finish and their matt is easy to spray and beautifully flat, well worth a try.

I haven't done AFV's for a few years now, I always used to rely on Testors Dullcote but then the fools stopped producing it. I want to stick to figures now, though I have said that before then the muses send me off on a tangent, so long as it's not model railways I'll be happy.

Cheers Simon

I’ve had some time this weekend and so have managed to paint the ground work and paint the base.

I think after a couple of details have been picked out I can add some weathering and he’ll be finished.
