Here is the Young Miniatures Chosin reservoir bust. It is painted with acrylics. I have a bit more work to do, but thought I would show it off- Matt

Matt - very nice. Excellent painting.

To my eye, it looks a bit odd to have snow/ice in his beard and brows but not noticeably anywhere else. Are you going to add some more?

Colin

Thanks Colin. Actually I am thinking about it. I looked at pictures of people in cold climates and their breath freezes, thus the ice /snow on the beard. Maybe a light dusting over the top of the head and shoulders.....

I wondered about that - maybe its the brows as they are a fair way from the mouth. But if you have looked at pix you know better than I.

He's got that I'm so tired, sleepy, can't get warm, when is this s### going to be over look on his face. Beautiful!

I was not happy with the finish on the Chosin Marine, particularly with the frost on the beard and 'stash. Maybe because I live in a climate that has really no snow, heck if its 30 degrees, its really really cold. I thought about adding snow and I actually tested it- I thought it looked kinda fake. Anyway, I re-did some parts and here you go-- Matt

Good call on changing the beard Matt
I live in a cold place and have never seen anyone with frost encrusted whiskers ,

Nice painting all round on yet another superb young's bust

Great job and a good call Matt.
Have been in very cold mountain conditions and always found it was moustache and eyelashes that 'iced' up.
Not at all easy to recreate in miniature and even when done well looks unconvincing.
The tired look around the eyes works particularly well and tells the story without being overdone.
Cheers
Derek
