I've always had a soft spot for these figures. I do know that they might be showing their age to some extent now, but who cares? I really did enjoy this one. Looking back maybe I ought to have sculpted the hands myself as they are poor by today's standards. But it's done now.

Nice to practice a 54mm while I can still see.

I can recommend this one - thoroughly enjoyed him.

As ever any all comments most welcome.

Lovely BP - I'm with you about these figures. Looking at my current collection it appears I paint little else  I'd not seen this chap before so thanks for posting him. Just finishing off another of Sid's figures; as soon as he's based up I'll post a pic or two . . .
Paul

Ps - Out of my price range, but I did notice that someone is selling pretty much a full set of Chota Sahib figs on fleabay. 111 of them in fact - I was staggered that there were so many, I'd imagined 30 or 40 at most. (By the way if you do have the spare £350 asking price I reckon that it's a bit of a bargain, but then I am slightly biased) ;)

This was one of the first figures (along with several other Sid Horton Victorians) that set me on the road to painting miniatures, lovely to see they still look great after so long.
He was a brilliant sculptor and a smashing bloke!

Thanks for posting,

Thank you guys for all the kind comments. Sorry about my rubbish pictures.

It's especially nice to know A) It's introduced this beauty to somebody who hasn't seen it and B) To Show it again for somebody else who has fond memories of it. So both ends of the scale.

As I say, I heartily recommend this one. And yes - he is attached to the base via the post he leans on...

Good paint job and presentation. I do like the old Chota figures. I have a number of them in my GGA. I really should break one out and paint it up. They can still stand up even by today's standards.
