I have recently taken delivery of this figure. Unfortunately no painting instructions were available.
I am in the main o.k . re the painting of the figure but I need advice re the medals shown on the figure.
The officer has 3. I can paint the first 2 as Indian General Service Medals -- the 1896 and 1909 issues. Or do I go for a slightly earlier time slot, but he needs to be from 1886 onwards due to the white facings. The 3rd medal though is the problem- it looks like a star rather than a round medal. I doubt if it can be the Indian Order of Merit as it is the last medal in the line regarding precedence.
Sadly enlarging the Chota Sahib image on Mirof's excellent site does not give good enough definition to resolve my question. Does anyone know what three medals were suggested in the instructions, if at all, or could fit the time period for this regiment.
Many Thanks in expectation.
Lightbob.

Hello All ,
Hope you are all well and enjoying the great weather.
I have finished my Rattray's Sikh officer, perhaps not my best effort. I have attached a pic. showing the figure along with some other Indian Army officers of the British Raj. Sorry for the poor picture quality, must try to improve tech. skills.

It looks like British Indian army is coming back in favour... I really like the splendid uniforms of that period... El Taller Hobbyart has issued a number of beautiful mounted models.
