My thoughts and condolences go out to those families and the wider muslim community in New Zealand who have become the innocent victims of the monstrous cowardly attack on Friday.
Similarly the effect on the whole Kiwi population must be horrendous. Just talked to my son who lives in Aukland and he says that there is a palpable sense of numbness, sympathy and anger throughout the country.
The fact is that the thing who carried out the attack filmed it and live streamed it on facebook just adds to the horror and turns those who were unfortunate enough to see it into victims themselves.
I stopped using facebook a month or so back because of their inabilty and unwillingness to police content.
I dont want to watch decapitations or shootings but the main motivation for me was a couple of fb friends who I thought better of started to post vile and inflamatory messages and had received likes from other modelling friends.
I got on fine without it and am getting on fine without it.

Agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments Del, l told my daughter last night that l will leave a world unrecognisable from the one l was born into and not for the better. Interesting to hear the inventor of the internet declare that the first 15 years had been positive but not so the last 15.

My heart goes out to the innocents in New Zealand, l hope they lock this scumbag up and throw away the key.

I see that Facebook lost 15 million members in the States last year.... can't imagine why? Time for them to wake up and smell the coffee.

"I have been struggling all day to accept that anyone feels so superior to others by race religion or gender that this is enough reason to kill...
Her words are exactly the ones that typify what we think of New Zealand and it's citizens.
Come earthquake or lunacy like this they will quietly calmly sensibly rebuild through the pain and tears, best wishes to any of your families touched in any way by the worries. ❤

I can tell you that the overwhelming majority of Australians share the feelings of shock, disgust and outrage at the cowardly attack in Christchurch. My thoughts are for the victims in hospital fighting for their lives and for the families and friends of the victims whose lives have been ripped apart by this senseless act of violence.
