Very nice work Borek. How do you find using the beesPutty, I am struggling with it and find it quite hard and crumbles.

Hi Tommi. Thanks so much :).

For me, Bees Putty is a matter of dreams :). I'm working on a solid surface. Coat the wire skeleton with a thin layer of Magic Sculp epoxy. Then I apply Bees Putty over small islands. Every bit I pinch to the surface so that it does not fill the air bubbles under the mass (that's very important). When I have the necessary part of the piece I cover, I add the mass where I need and model the basic curves / shapes. Well, and finally, fine rendering details. With bees Putty it really makes me great. I get better results than before with Magic Sculp ...

Many thanks for your reply. I think that maybe I am using to much at one time and also trying to build on a wire armature and not a solid one, thanks for the help.

Youre welcome Tommi :). With Bees Putty you can work without a background really (model only on wire), but it is more demanding and slower. I definitely prefer modeling on a solid ground. Bees Putty has many other great features that you can use in this type of work.

What are you using to help smooth out the surface

Tommi

It's a combination of smoothing with metal tools and a brush soaked in water. I will optimize the surface with a metal tool (dental trowel, although BeesPutty offers metallic tools that look great and I would like to order them). Then I take a brush (on a large surface it can be a flat brush, but mostly I use a classic round /Italieri 000/, then smooth the surface carefully).

In this case, the smoothing tool is a brush, the water only serves as a "lubricating medium" - it facilitates the gliding of the brush over the surface and softens the possible brush stroke. I do not move with brush after the hair, but over the hair (I put the brush on the surface and with gentle circular movements from right to left and back to the surface). The best way to eliminate the hair brush track.

After a while, I will check the surface. Brush smoothing reveals the more severe inequalities that remained after scraping with a metal tool.
Smoothing with a brush is delicate and will deal with very fine inequalities, not the most important ones. I will again wipe the bigger unevenness with a metal tool and I will return to brushing and water again. I repeat this procedure until I am satisfied with the surface.

It seems time consuming, but it is not so bad. After mastering a certain routine it's pretty fast :)

For the best smoothing it is good to use a powerful magnifying glass to control the unevenness. I use a magnifying glass with a magnification of 6 times. This magnification will also reveal inequalities that you do not usually reveal to the naked eye.

I hope it helped you

(sorry for bad Eng)

Hi All

Unfortunately, I have been offline for a long time because of serious health problems, but I'm already returning to work. I still have to catch up with some rest and, as much as possible, I will go back to the Battle of Clontarf, which will become more of a "winter challenge" :)

That is some great looking progress. Nice sharp and crisp sculpting. Can't wait for more :)

Thanks so much Sascha :)

Thanks a lot Oda. Unfortunately, postponement for health reasons was inevitable, and for a while I have to work on other postponed projects, but soon I will return to Clontarf. Thank you for Your enthusiasm and praise.;)

Have a nice days to everyone
