I am somewhat happy with the NMM painting but I am not 100% convinced that I will try the process again. It takes a very long time, anyway, finished in acrylics and inks

A beauty Bob, the NMM has come out really well but you're right it's a time consuming technique. Also like the subtlety in the blues.

Cheers Simon
Hi Bob

That’s one dashing Hussar , like the way the lace has come out , you’ve nailed the white on both pelisse and the plume

Pleasure to see

Thanks for V bench as well https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/colonel-meuziau-5-hussars-1809.698457/

Look forward to seeing what’s next on the bench

Have fun

Thank you both very much, it was very time consuming and I'm glad it's over. My eyes need a rest now. 🤣🤣

Well done Bob !!. The little white lines in the gold braids look great on the front of the character, it's a technique to remember. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent Bob.
Cheers
Chris
I think you can be justifiably proud of this chap, great job, congratulations Bob.

Thank you for the kind comments, it was certainly a learning curve but got there.
I don't think I will be tempted to paint another Hussar officer for a little while.
It a lovely figure and I have just noticed the medal is not finished.

Great work, as usual, Bob. I'm no fan of acrylics, so NMM has never been an issue, lol. I think it's one of those things that takes a lot of time to get right, but the results are stupendous, to say the least. This Gents looks great from here, Brother!

Looks great to me - excellent figure and finish.

Thank you gents, I'm on no hurry to paint gold braid anytime soon but never say never.

Very nice work Bob, the whole figure looks great. I think you pulled off the NMM but it sounds like a lot of work! Definitely not for me....

Excellent work Bob, beautifully painted.

Thank you both, I will look for another way to paint braid, unless just a little bit of braid.
I can see this working on a large scale bust but not really in 75s

That is an outstanding piece of work. I have this figure in the stash. The 5th has always been my favorite hussar regiment. You got the bleu ciel foncé spot on. I have yet to try the NMM technique.

Thank you very much, I have a fondness for the Napoleonic period and this will not be the last Hussar, as I am eyeing up another.
I think way back when metal Models started they published wool swatches of all the uniform colours, I still have it and refer to it quite a bit.
Thanks again.
