This is my take on the 75mm Atelier Maket figure of Charles Du Pin, just completed and awaiting a nameplate. Du Pin was leader of the anti-guerilla forces at the time of the French occupation of Mexico during the "reign" of Maximilian and Carlotta (which ended badly for them and the French). To put it mildly Du Pin was not a nice character!

I had some minor issues with tidying up the detail on the braiding but in the end I was pleased with the overall result, though it did try my patience at times:D
Acrylics (AV) with oils for the face. Thanks for looking.

Really nice detail painting ...like the lacework and the medals are very well done , ribbons are clearly identifiable ......if I may ......

PS Does this mean you have the Rollet bust with you .....if so I'd best finish mine off ...lol

Really excellent painting!

I painted mine two years ago and the ill defined rank insignia on the sleeves almost made me bin him. Quite a test of one's patience and perseverance indeed.

Cheers,

Pierre

Thanks Kev - it wasn't in the queue but I was awaiting some aftermarket bits for an aircraft project so I thought I'd just have a quick look at it - the res is history! Rollet in the GA but I have another fish to fry first:LOL:

Thank you Pierre - yes patience and perseverance were well exercised with this one. Something simple next I think:D
