Hi Alex,

Perhaps you have already answered this question in another thread given that you have several painted figures displayed on the forum, but could you kindly provide the mixes you use for the red colour. I am particularly keen to know how you did the reds on this one.

Hope you have a good weekend at Euro Mil.

Ciao for now
Franco

Of course Franco!

I usually use the same receipt as base and in every new piece, I change a little bit the mixtures. But the main work is the next:

Base: Cavalry Brown + Napoleonic Green (just a bit)
Lights (add to the base color) Vermillion, Orange Red, Sunny Skintone
Shadows: Napoleonic green, chocolat brown and black
tones: Crimson, Violet Red, Green.... (it depends)

All colors from VMC except the Napoleonic green (from AC)

Hope it helps!

Alex,
looks great! would you mind telling me your formula for you flesh tones? did you use acrylics? what was the brand name?

This is a really outstanding piece of work. Sometimes I think my figures are getting better and then I see something like this and think I should throw out the brushes and take up tiddlywinks instead :) Could I ask what mix you use for the white straps and belts? Many thanks.

Pete

Outstanding work Alex, just superb. Got this figure at Euro and was worried about painting, now I have the perfect subject to base it on.
A wonderful work from both yourself and Stuart at Stormtroopers, well done to you both!
