Hi All,
Whilst I'm waiting for oils to dry on Captain Younghusband I thought I would start this one. This is C.S.M. Williams from Zulu Dawn played by Bob Hoskins in 1:16 scale. The figure is fully assembled and I have started to block in and take away all the grey.

I have a few people to thank for this one, my mates - Rik, Tommi, Steve and of course Mike Blank who sculpted and posed the figure superbly. All great friends who have contributed to this project and made it possible.
May still add a Zulu in on this one being skewered, if I do the Zulu would fit right on the end of the base and the bayonet would be chopped as if it were thrust into the Zulu.
cheers
Richie

While in this case the sash is indeed worn incorrectly the SLI (Somerset Light Infantry) do wear the sash that way. Not a lot of people know that. . .

"Under Colonel Pulteney the Regiment took part in the Battle of Dettingen (1743) - the last battle in which the English Sovereign led his troops into battle. It also took part in the famous Battle of Culloden in 1746 - the last battle to be fought on British soil - when the English Army defeated the Scots under Bonnie Prince Charlie. It is thought that the English C-in-C, the Earl of Cumberland, was so impressed with the performance of the Regiment that he gave instructions for the senior NCOs to wear their sashes over their left shoulders (similar to the Officers). This unique tradition still exists in the successor Regiment today, although its true origin is still in some doubt."

Richie,
That's an outstanding tribute to the late, great Bob Hoskins, one of my favourite actors. I could watch The Long Good Friday over & over again!

Hi Chris,
Thank you, I actually sent a copy of Bob Hoskins head without the beard to Mike as he also likes the Long Good Friday so he may sculpt one for himself in the future.
cheers

It's a brilliant film Richie, one of my all-time favourites, & Mike has impeccable taste. When I lived in Croydon, I used to go to Selhurst Park to watch Crystal Palace play & the team used to run out onto the pitch to the theme from The Long Good Friday.
