Hi tigerdio

Thanks for all the responses and taking the comments as they are intended ...constructive

I don't do full figures but if I may say this has potential and absolutely no disrespect to Petes sculpting intended but IMO the chainmail needs completely redoing

The raised detail ie: lions woukd IMO look better less proud ....perhaps try Historex Agents in UK for PE ?

You might like to have a look at Borek's 100YW thread he is doing armour

Here's the link https://www.planetfigure.com/thread...ama-sculpting-wip-series-introduction.226367/

Look forward to others replies on this

Happy benchtime

Stay safe

or from 1/6 Timeline figures:

I used the former for my 200mm knight for Gordon Mitchell (as referenced above), and the latter (obtained from a torso sold on eBay) for my Roman Centurion for Victory miniatures. I'm surprised that Pete didn't use the latter on your knight, because I sent him a fair amount which he used on another large scale figure (https://www.victoryminiatures.co.uk/index.php?id=models&pid=77).

As regards shield straps, I made the masters from pewter sheet, although brass strips would do, which Gordon then cast in resin. You have the padding correct, the straps should be as follows:
http://www.yeoldegaffers.com/project_shield.asp. As you can see there are variations on a similar theme.

I don't know if my masters will help, but the details can be found here:

Good luck,

Thanks for all the help and suggestions but changing the chain mail is wayyyyy beyond my sculpting abilities. I want to make this the best I can but with Pete gone there's no way he can make the necessary changes and I don't know a sculptor who would do that either. Any suggestions on who to send for the corrections? Or would you be willing to do the corrections for me? If yes, what would I have to pay? Would you take copies of the piece as payment for the help? Please advise as I want to get this right for the customers to enjoy. Thanks mate, much appreciate it.

Not being either a sculptor or a caster I could be incredibly wrong here, but could you cast a new master using the original? Then remove all the chain and replace it with plate? It would keep the bulk of the figure while replacing the not so good bits.

Yes, I can do that, but I would prefer to have the mail like others suggested. I can also just do the figure as a different version with the armor plate and not the chain mail. Now to figure out how to make the mail fit and finding a suitable chain mail from a purse or other source. Thanks all.

Re-working the mail hood and skirt should be straightforward, the arms less so.

Ease for you to say ;-) You are a good sculptor....Me, just a starter. Now to find suitable chain mail from a purse or another source. Would you happen to have any around I can use?

Thanks
