And for interest the Avro Triplane used in THE film still flies on windless days at the Shuttleworth Collection.
 
The Shuttleworth Collection recently managed to acquire all the flying replicas made for “Those Magnificent men in their Flying Machines”. They have Stuart Whitman’s Boxkite and the Sir Percy’s Triplane Flying and the others are to be assembled soon. The Replicas are very faithful to the original designs. If I recall the Triplane has a Cirrus engine from a moth which is “modern” but dates back to the 1920s .
 
Actually I quite like the way Mr Good has portrayed them, very realistic when some one is in the bright sun.


I sculpted the figure but did not paint it. If I were painting it, my personal preference is to paint the eyeballs. I always do that and it is especially important when doing a portrait....
