I've always wondered how much it would cost to commission a particular pet project of mine and whether it would be something completely beyond my pocket.

It's the version of the H.G.Wells Time Machine that featured in the 1971 film "Time After Time" and, in the best possible world, I'd like to get Wells himself (Malcolm McDowell) standing next to it.

If there are any professional sculptors reading this, maybe you could give me some idea what you would charge :cautious:

You might also want to check with your local IPMS (international plastic modellers society). Someone there might be able to build this out of other kits or point you to someone who could. As for Wells you might be able to convert an existing figure if you find one that's close. Just an alternative to having the whole thing sculpted from scratch.

I did see a model of this somewhere.I think it was one of those movie replica companies. You can probably google it.

There are many models available of the George Pal 1960's Time Machine but I've never seen one of this. If you find one, I'd really like to know.

Thanks for the suggestion; maybe I should be looking in other places for this one.

I was never that worried about Wells; but, as this is a figure forum, I thought I'd better include him. There are, as you say, many figures that could be adapted. I've got some nice Edwardian Preiser figures for example.

It's the machine that was the problem. The only machine model I own is another Time Machine (George Pal version) and I haven't built one since I was 14 (Airfix James Bond Gyrocopter).
