Dear Friends,

I have always been fascinated by Conan and his timeless popularity -He is one of the few fantasy heroes that appeal to many even after all these years.. The warrior, traveler, and yet not just barbarian brute , but surprisingly intelligent Cimmerian proved to be a really good ,time-resistant mix.

This is old McFarlane piece , from their second Conan series -the tomb is a decoration piece modified somewhat -the cross really bothers me as it really doesnt belong to Conan saga, and still am thinking of covering or modifying with putty, but on the other hand it is not really that visible. The tomb maybe will appear half-opened with some hands reaching out .Still need to do tile floor and stone bases for columns to make them taller.

"They said you'd come... From the North, a man of great strength... A conqueror. A man who would some day be king by his own hands. One who would crush the snakes of the earth."
-Witch to Conan

Cheers,Piotr

Hi Piotr
I have the same figure, with a simpler rocky base.
I haven't finished it.
Having seen this, I now will.
Splendid finish
Paul
Hi Paul!
Its funny that you mention rocky base, since thats exactly what I wanted to do initially, i had some crushed concrete and rocks prepared to do a cave , but in the end I liked this tomb ashtray so much , i decided it gives a good "Conan vibe" but I know what you mean -inital impulse with Conans especially from McFarlane is to do rocky surroundings..maybe its Conan the Destroyer fight scenes that many of us like so much?..(n)..:D

Cheers,Piotr

I'll be honest, I didn't think that so deeply about it.
I didn't even like the movie.
The trees that walked in lord of the rings were less wooden than arnie !
But I thought the pose, and detail was just superb, and it was only £12.00
I have also bought a 1/16th Predator and 'Dutch' to put together
for less than the price of a 75mm metal kit !
Great fun,
Great value.
I think you've done a great job of this
Paul
