Marc towards the end of the war the Confederates were using anything and everything uniform and equipment regulations had gone out of the window you could probably paint it pink with purple spots and be accurate ( well ish ;) )

I agree with Steve, Marc. I'm thinking even to work a little more on it and turn it to a civilian checkered o tartan blanquet just to add a little more colour variations to the whole figure.

Yellow there!

Because of recent Edorta's post about flag painting I decided this guy needed his own one..So here it is. (Modelled with Milliput and painted with..paint:D)

Great, that is a good one.
Never thought about that.
I don't copy it........
You are almost there. Gonna repaint this evening the bedroll. Find some interesting design's on the web.
It's only Southwest style, but as I read above it could be happen.

Looks like you are getting on alright with he oils ,the saddle looks very good , the grey jacket is reflecting a stack of light as the paint is still wet ,I would try the paint without any medium of
any sort and set your pallet out on a non porous surface that way you will be able to put the paint on nice and thin and the oil in the paint will ease the flow and spread ,then stick it under a lamp or in a light box to dry , some of the drying mediums can make things glossy or patchy .
I think everyone goes through the varies stages of trying to make the paint dry fast when they begin with oils ,it is part of the learning process ,but if you get a decent matt bass on first and spread the oil so thin it is almost transparent it will dry very quickly , as you are knew to them note that the lighter colours take longer to dry than the darker shades with the earth ones being the quickest.

It does look good ,look forward to the finish (y)
