Hi folks

Digging into the patiently waiting GA ...over 5 years !

A US Continental Marine here's the link to the late Geoff Charmans version with pre '79 white facings http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/awi-continental-marine-1775.252209/

Facings changed to red in 1779 ...reason unsure I believe

Currently basecoated ,added the upper tape on the headwear Needed to sort out the eyes by reworking the surface

Only 5 years Kev, you must have older ones than that. I prefer the red facings so that's how mine was painted

Found this from Don Troiano....Quite like the variation in waistcoat , interesting the turn backs are not red as well ....off to look at his AWI books

Then it's the collar and cravat/waistcoat ......facings , the actual coat then finally the belts

Struggled a lot painting in the heat like many hopefully will be easier now !

Working along nicely , uniform , waistcoat ( kept to a whitish version ) and facings all done , next is the belts (just base colour atm ) then buttons ( I added one ! ) and that will be it
