I am not happy with the horse blanket to thick , so Jimbo came up with an idea to drill loads of little holes along blanket above arm and below take it off use some of what remains and sculpt a new one thinner with more natural movement .

Hi guys
I have had a bit of a go today used the Jimbo method of getting rid of the awful blanket , made a new blanket out of Magic Sculpt, put another pocket on the waist coat , made a leather roping cuff , I think it looks much better with out the huge blanket under his arm,lol , undercoat started on his face whites of eyes put in .
Hopefully will start to get some colour on him soon , not sure what colour for the shirt any suggestions would be great not paisley lol , sand / tan waist coat think off white bandana with a faded red pattern .
More work on the boots, going to make some nice spurs , rains have to be attached and more work on saddle .
Cheers Chris

Hi Mr Chris ,

Blimey you don't hang about do you , this looks so much better , all credit to you and well done for getting it sorted ......now get some paint on him !!!!!

Nap

PS Jimbo is now a granpa for the 3rd time ..a boy ...already signed up for the SWFM

Chris that blanket has been bugging me as well , after all it is something made from wool or another natural material, definiatly not cardboard!! so it should fall or drape better than the kits version . I'll have a word with my daughter in law as she has keeped horses for years just in case they are stiff as a board (y) .
chippy .

Hi Guys
Thanks Nap thought I would crack on lol , hi chippy they are a quite thick , however they used to get worn fibre breaks down , in those days the horse was a work animal they would use what was available , they would pick up sweat and moisture etc , the old ones I saw when i was in Arizona were of all sorts of thickness and age floppy not so floppy once painted up I think it will look ok .
Cheers Chris
