This is a 1/12 scale bust (by Black Crow Miniatures) of a character called ‘Cormac the Druid’.
I got it over a year ago on our club visit to the El Greco shop.
The kit offers a plethora of items to paint, and it took me a while to take the plunge and get started. Much of the painting was oils over enamels or acrylics, or just enamels (the snails), but the hair and beard was just acrylic.
It now makes a nice pairing with ‘Octavius’ (from the same company).

He is a great character, very nicely done. I like the naturalistic look of the skin tones and clothing.

Very nice piece Andrew, full of character, really like the birds. Looks a bit like my father in law.

Cheers Simon

Hi Andrew

Certainly a lot of different elements to paint , the hair and beard looks good

Nice work on the birds ...like the " donation " from one of them on the hand ...lol

Thank you for your kind comment Rob.
My aim was for muted colours for the clothing.

Cheers,
Andrew

Thank you for looking and taking the time to comment Simon.
I know the birds are not very thrush-like, but I used that colouring as a guide.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hi Kevin,
I'm pleased you like him.
He was fun to paint, but took quite a while.
I kept finding things I'd missed, or overpainted (I've no doubt that I'll find more as time goes by).
The 'donation' was Joy's suggestion, and I'm chuffed she made it.

Cheers,
Andrew
