110. Day, April 10, 2013

Today IU have painted the Saber belts.

For the leather parts I have used this colors...

...for the Metal parts (rings) this ones...:

Now it looks like this....:

Today I tentatively tried the color of the tresses that will grace the caftan of our hero. I decided on a "rich" and rather dark orange.

Why?
The Cossacks of the time dressed so on their own Terms - there were no rules. And now my own preferences come play:

Along with the green sash show the orange tresses the colors of the Trikot, which was in the 2003/2004 season the gap of Werder Bremen, when they got the german championship ...:

Thus, the caftan looks now - the blue will in the coming days significantly bluer and darker ...

Toll, aba liaba rot-woaß, gell?

Uns ziagt koana die Lederhos'n aus, die Lederhos'n aus, die Lederhos'n aus!

Martin,

This is looking great ..love the colours you are using ..we can almost see him moving to the music...really looking forward to seeing the final version....unless we have a # 3 figure in mind?

Thanks for sharing

Thx Nap!

I have two scale matching figures (the bue Cossack of the last year and my own sculpt of the "fat red Cossack" after Ilja Repin). You can see them at my album.

Cheers

So - now I've started to repaint the caftan. I greatly reduces the gray-component of the color, therefore the Thing gets more blue blue. The shadows I have also deepened - by adding the "color" black. This makes the fabric look darker.

In addition, the light guide was partially changed. Color, shade, deep shade and the very first lights are on it.

The remaining - and highest - lights are still missing ...:

Martin,

Catching up a bit and boy does he look great the colour combination you have chosen is great and woks really well together ,your use of oils is also nicely done .. Obviously you are enjoying using them.

Thanks for sharing such an informative SBS

Looking forward to more and the final result

Nap

It goes on with the waist...:

First a "dry" Fitting:

It fits very well! Markus had worked absolutely great!

After that the waist is fixed to a cork - in the same Position it will mounted later to the figure...:

Then the part is primed - and now you can see all the fine details.

The waist in original size...:

And now in a larger way - mention thelitte cross at his neck, or the harmonic drapery...:
