Been a while since I've posted (and painted :-( ). Here's my kick at MIG Productions' Chosun and Ft. Duquesne's General Von Helmuth – the Korean bust was done in enamels, and Helmuth is my first attempt with acyrlics...enjoying the layering possibilities w/ this new medium...

Comments and suggestions welcome!

Thanks for looking!
Bruce

Thanks for the comments! Uruk-Hai...oops...should've mentioned that the Helmuth was a WIP...haven't done the coat or the cross yet.

G'day Bruce (sorry I can't help myself, that's the Python fan in me coming out),

You've picked up the technique for painting in acrylics very naturally. Von Helmuth is excellent, even if he is still a WIP. Please post again when he's finished.

Cheers

Thanks again for the comments, guys. I find that I am extremely conservative in my approach to shading and highlights, and also in face painting. Can anyone point me to what they consider to be an excellent article on face painting; there seems to be a distinct difference in the approach to face painting between Europe and West. After Expo 2005, I wanted to focus on taking my attempts a bit further.

Thanks!
Bruce

Looking good Bruce! Both excellent pieces, and your painting is a nice compliment. I painted the Helmuth bust a few years back, a fun piece. I have the MIG piece in the "gray army" but haven't gotten around to him yet. Keep us posted!
