nice looking horses.
I think the leopard skin needs more work into the middle of the burnt umber.

Sorry if I shout for any reason.......for instance that it is a not completed painted horse.

Both are brilliant Ron.
Good work on the tiger skin.
Cheers,

Marc like horses not all leopard pelts are the same there is light and dark depending on location :D some have white centres to yje spots , some dark tan and some just the same as the pelt colour and even all three combined

I wish I could paint horse's, mine end up looking like donkeys.
Superb WIP will follow to see the result.
Best regards

Bob it is not hard to paint horses, ok some of the greys can be difficult , but a dark bay is a great place to start .
All you need is , burnt umber , mars black and a tad Tit white for the muzzle , in this one horse you can have dark points IE legs main and tail or you can go for light points , add a blaze , white fetlocks , many combinations .

My method is in the undercoat shining through to keep things subtle .
If there was enough interest I would do an SBS on a couple of different colours

I did one horse years ago, DF Grieves 16th lancer, didn't finish it, then painted his Camel corp figure both in 65mm. The camel looked great.
I have read all sorts on painting horse. when I get to the muzzle and the eyes, it goes to cock.
(trouble is the MM mounted figures are a tad expensive) I like them, as no other gets so near to the quality.
One day........
Thanks Ron

Historex are cheap and great to practise with Bob , the have a slight texture which makes them even easier to paint

Nice work again on the horses, and yes please on the SBS horse painting, it will be much appreciated showing your painting method.

Cheers
Tommi

I will do an SBS Tommi as I have a couple of spare horses .
I will be sending for either the line lancer trooper or officer MM tomorrow and it should get here by Monday .
By the time I clean and prep should start the SBS towards the end of the week.
Will also cover some of the things best done pre painting ie Bits and reins .

Lovely work on both horses. I'm looking forward to seeing more and to reading your sbs.

Cheers

Huw
