Thanks for the nice comments. There really isn't any 'water' on this one--only the illusion caused by the light shining down thorugh the plexigalss top. The background of the box was airbrushed & then little 'fishes' and plants added to the background for interest.
For the water on the other dio (see below) I just painted it with artist's acrylics mixed with modeling paste to add some texture, then brushed the waves with white paint, then added a few coats of gloss acrylic varnish over it.
I'm working on a 64mm grail night right now. I posted so photos of that one in the 'Painting' section.
