FINALLY! I'm back to working on the Culp's Hill vignette. The arms on the wounded soldier are slowly taking shape. The full sleeves make the arms from the shoulder to the elbow look long. I'm slowly taking away material, but do not want the sleeves to look like ones on a modern jacket.

Gary, I'm glad to see you back at this vignette. I think it'll be a winner. I think this guy's right shoulder needs some work though. If you reach across your body, your clavicle and shoulder blade move with the arm. I think this dude needs to have the right shoulder area filed at an angle and the clothing resculpted accordingly. Love the hair and the hand BTW.

John, So I should throw the ball of the shoulder more forward? Thank for the observation and suggestion... Good eye. ~Gary

Well, you put it more clearly than I did, but yes.

Given the cut of the jacket sleeve it will make give the shoulder area a wider look. One thing I do not want to do is start cutting into the metal portion of the figure. I'll do what I can with putty. ~Gary

Gary , beautiful work , and i really appreciate that you show us steps of your work as i have something similiar in mind but with more figures . Will be attending with care !!

I was hoping to see more of this one,I'm glad you're back working on it.
Looking forward to the finished piece.

Gary,
This is really coming along well, since my holiday travel plans have been cancelled you might have just given me the inspiration I need to get back to the dio I'm working on.

Hi Gary

Good to see you sculpting again, really good so far, sorry if I am a little slow on this one, whats the medium you are using....?

Dave

Guys, thanks again. I hope to have these arms complete by the weekend. I'm using Apoxie sculpt for the putty work and it helps to tint the putty (did not do it here) because it's white. The arms will be as improved as I can get them as there are other ideas waiting to be done.~Gary
