Hello all,
I just finished this figure from Hornet of George Armstrong Custer.
Painting was done with Humbrols.
Groundwork is Magic Sculpt, some little stones and grass from Fredericus Rex.

Hope you like it.

Great job especially on the groundwork. What did you use for the groundwork? One thing though. Custer and the 7th Cav did not bring along their sabers to the Litle Big Horn.

Classy job on a classic figure. I do agree with David on the hair though (I understand why you painted this so bright). If you painted in Humbrols, as you stated, it's not too late to tweak it. Toning it down with some ochres and yellowish-browns can still be done. (y)

Thank you all guys!
I was aware of the fact they didn't wore their sabers, but I did'nt want to convert this classic figure.
I am not an good photographer..the lighting has washed out all the contrast in his hair.
In reality there are more browns and contrast in it.

thanks again,
Robert Jan

Excellent figure, but historically inaccurate. Not only did the Seventhleave their sabers behind, LtCol Custer also had his signature "locks" cropped prior to taking to the field. Perhaps using this figure to represent someone other than Custer at another action would be more historically accurate.

Hello Robert
Very good topic to a hero as the Custer!!
However according to the other friend that hair definitely should not be so yellow, perhaps with some waches with dark brown to what was realistic!
Bravo!!!
