Hi all,

Included a couple of pitures of the latest figure I'm working on. It's 1/35 th scale, in resin from Alpine miniatures. All painting is done in acryllics. The backside of the coat only has one basecoat, and is not completely covering yet. Does someone know if I used the right colour for the Panzerfarbe?

I will also paint the NCO from the same maker. Mario Eens will do a piece of thank. Together it will be avignette. I'm very excited to work again with Mario, it's been too long!

all comments are, as always, appreciated a lot.

Greetz,

Gino

Thanks

HI Gino,

Nice work so far!
The panzer waffenfarbe is pink, but the shade is actually a litter different. It is pure pink (yours looks a little on the orange/salmon side, could be the lighting).
You should remove the pink around the breast eagle, no weffenfarbe there.

I look forward to seeing more...

Best wishes,

Luka

Looks good Gino, enjoyed your bit in Military Modelling i picked up yesterday on the russian with the Hitler head! very good work, and this looks like it will be as good. :)

Hi Gino.
Good job on it,mate!!
I hope you'll enjoy painting those figures as I did some time ago.
The waffenfarbe is,as Bosko said, pink. The NCO braid should be gold.
The breast eagle and litzen should be grey over an orange or dark green(officers mainly) background.

Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Ernesto, I think alpine are at the moment the best 1/35th scale figures money can buy. The detail and casting is amazing, you only need to remove the casting blocks and fit of parts is perfect. I can recommend them without hesitations. No, I don't have any financial intrest in Alpines

Hi Olly,

Glad to hear yo enjoyed the article in mili mod. This make it all worth the trouble.

last sunday I had to do a dem, so I messed around a bit more with this figure. The body above the belt is about ready, only some metal parts. As always, all is painted in acryllics.

All comments are appreciated a lot.

Gino

Hi Gino.
Very nice so far.
If you're going to paint the armband as the box-art,please don't do it.I did a mistake there(yes,I must admit).I painted a later version. The right one should be black background, with pipping and the word afrikakorps(not afrika) in silver.

Hi Jaume,

Thanks for the info. It's not too late yet, I will make the changes as you tell. BTW, do you remember what colours you used to paint the kepi of this figure.

Best wishes and thanks for all your help and inspiration,

Gino

Hi all,

Hi all,

figure 1 for the vignette is ready. I temporarely placed him on a simple groundwork. I want him to go to the Torrent show next week. Once the second figure is ready, and Mario has finnished the turret to go with it, it all will be placed on one groundwork to form the vignette. The figure is true 1/35th scale, moulded in resin by Alpine. All painting was done with acrylics.

All comments are more then welcome.

Gino

Hello,

For my second figure on the Afrika Korps vignette I wanted a figure with a Tropenhelmet (is this the correct English word?). I hollowed out a Warrior helmet, placed this on an Hornet head and sculpted some hair with Duro. I've seen on the pics that I need to add some hair on the forehead. Have I missed some more? Please let me know. Many thanks in advance.

Greetz,

Gino.
