It´s very soft in contrast and nuances, but the result is quite realistic. I think you have done a great work reproducing the real colors of the uniform.

If you do a bust for your own pleasure you can display historical correct national insignia for German WW 2 subjects. If you want to display your work publicly at an exhibition these symbols need to be covered or changed to denazified fantasy insignia like it was done on this bust - otherwise you commit a serious law offense in good old Germany. Therefore several exhibitions refrain completely from the display of WW 2 Germans in general. When it comes to airplanes some modellers in the meantime no longer know that there was another national insignia beside the crosses on the tail of the 109`s.....
So much about LAWFUL political correct modelling in Germany - nice paintwork on your bust Günther - I would possibly take another look at the catchlights of the pupils but that is a minor nitpick. Realistic and clean paintjob!

Thanks for your advice - my avatar is just a picture of my model - not a political statement and I will not enter this model in an exhibition in Germany. Enough said - the thread is about Günther`s nice bust so back to the topic.

many thanks for the nice comments.

Faust18? to your question: the color of the cap is 70987 medium grey of Vallejo.
The insignia is 70824 german cam. orange ochre Vallejo.

Eduardo: you are right, it is a problem to show a svastica in Germany. Martin explained it right.
It is also a problem to publish on a German webside.
It is still a sensitive topic.
Perhaps I will paint it with svastica again and show it on Planet figure.
