update for my bench.... work have blocked me viewing sculpture forums but not the Planet which is cool!! adding my Wips here so i can show my work mates... :)

This is a 17.5 inch figure and 8.75 heads. very tall and skinny really as elves are in my mind at least..... lol!

Gordy- i like wax and chavant best because its hassle free for making changes to a piece. there is no sanding, curing or baking to be done and wax is ready to carve when cool which is very quick indeed.
Chavant is fantastic too. slap it on in a stroke like fashion and build your forms. both are easy to work with heat from a foil lined box and an alcohol torch. i use minimal tools, 3- 5 and my fingers mostly. i get my waxes from Willowwax.com and Sculpt.com for Castilene and asbro.
the castilene can make Military scales with no bother of an armature. hope thats some useful info chaps!
