dark or light colours first

I was wondering what order do people paint their figures? Dark colours then light or vice versa. Raised details first or recessed areas?

hello Talino,

First i was painting what comes in my eyes first.
Now, i paint first the face and all skincolours.
Then i go to the light colours and work from the inside of the figure to the outside.
I choose this because when i make a mistake it is easyer to correct with dark over light dan vice versa.
The thinny details are for the last.
The recessed areas are as it comes.

But i am very sure there are others who paint in a different way. This is one aproch but not the only one.

I generally paint from the outside, in. Face first, of course, because I don't want to be a complete freak.
