Next load of retail release now up:

Lucky Thirteen

It's a glorious day for more releases from Darklands: First Edition, for this month we have thirteen - one for each kindred and six for the Fomoraic! This is the fifth set of releases from that project and we have some brilliant miniatures, including an infantry unit, to give you. Sadly, we've not been able to get them painted in time for release, but the miniatures themselves are fantastic as always.

For the Albainn: Domnech, a sorcerer, called a Sagart. For the Angelcynn: our very own Timoth, a smith. For the Brythoniaid, and Sell-Swords: Ieuan Longshore and his mastiff Taranau. Ieuan is is our first ancestor release. For the Byzantii: a sorcerer, a Magus Infernum, called Velchior. For the Fomoraic: a Gabrax unit called Baagath's Herd, both as a unit of five and five individual warriors. For the Khthones: Eikovra, a Sávrar host banner bearer. For the Norse: the mighty Rollo Iron Head, a smith. For the Ysians: it's Brugg, our lovely Death-Brute!

Unfortunately, just like the previous releases this year, thanks to us being busier than busy bees we've just not had the time to get the release art and descriptions done; but you can still see some good images of each miniature on the website of course.

Domnech, Sagart of Dun Durn

The Albainn gain a very useful sorcerer this month in the rather tramp-like shape of Domnech, a Sagart by trade, a priest of the Oghu. Sculpted by Olivier Nkweti from the artwork by Sam Lamont.

Timoth, Smith of Langwith

mrm_dkl_ang_mrc_wcf_181_000_01_medium.png

Timoth - modelled on our very own Tim Fisher - is a smith and a warrior of great renown, although he is a little uncouth. Don't let that stop you purchasing this fantastic sculpt by Thomas David (from the art by Des Hanley) to command your Duguth!

Ieuan Longshore, Warrior of Wygan

mrm_dkl_bry_ssd_wcf_101_000_01_medium.png

Ieuan represents our very first Ancestor - a miniature designed around one of our Kickstarter backers, in this case the redoubtable John Longshore. John supplied us with images of himself along with a brief of who his ancestors actually were, and it was found that he was of Welsh descent - and so he fits right into the Brythoniaid! Alongside John is his trusty mastiff, Taranau, who Ieuan uses both as a bodyguard and as a tracking dog...

Ieuan and Taranau were drawn up by Dan Warren from John's brief, and sculpted superbly by a newcomer to our range, Stéphane Camosseto. The result, we think, is fantastic!

Velchior, Magus Infernum

mrm_dkl_byz_var_wcf_161_000_01_medium.png

Just like the Albainn, the Byzantii gain their first sorcerer - a Magus Infernum, who can summon demons to bolster the forces of his Legio. Sculpted by Christian Hardy from the artwork by Beth Hughes.

Baagath's Herd, Gabrax Unit

mrm_dkl_fmr_blr_inf_300_000_01_large.png

Baagath's Herd is our first infantry unit for quite a while and is a fantastic addition to any Fomoraic host! Included within the unit are five Gabrax or goat-men, including the champion called Baagath, banner bearer, herald and two warriors, and purchasing the unit as opposed to the warriors on their own saves you a great deal of money - £17, or almost two miniatures! The Gabrax were sculpted by the indefatigable Benoît Cosse from the superb artwork by Stefan Kopinski.

Eikovra, Ikon Warrior

mrm_dkl_kth_sav_wcf_131_000_01_medium.png

Here's another Sávrar, or lizard-man, for the Khthones - Eikovra, who represents a host banner bearer. Sculpted by Roberto Chaudon from the artwork by Christophe Madura!

Rollo Iron Head, Filungi of Hrafnen

mrm_dkl_nor_sfg_wcf_181_000_01_medium.png

Can Allan Carrasco do no wrong? If Rollo Iron Head is anything to go by, the answer is a resounding no! Roll is a Norse smith, a warchief that makes your equipment options cheaper in Darklands, and thus worth his own weight in gold. Sculpted from the artwork by Danny Cruz by Allan.

Brugg, Death-Brute

mrm_dkl_ysn_kys_wcf_601_000_01_medium.png

The fantastic Brugg represents a Brute in its most advanced and normal form; a mutant that the Flesh-Drunes have actually got right for a change. As such, Brugg is more intelligent than normal Brutes and more brutal as a result! Sculpted by another newcomer to Darklands, Olivier Bouchet, from the artwork by Danny Cruz.

All of the releases above will be officially released on the 7th of March 2015, but you can pre-order them now from this very website to your heart's content!
