Hi all
As some of you will know i am accompanying my dad to Normandy on the 4th for the 70th , its all developed quite a bit we are travelling with a group 40 in total with a tour my dad and another guy are the only veterans John having been with the 11th Armoured Div . as mentioned in a previous post the BBC are coming with us to cover his story of the school and the anniversary.
On the 5 th we go to Mondrainville for my dad to present the busts that Jimbo and I did for him we thought it would be just dad and I and the BBC however the other people on the coach have asked if they can come as well lol , then a reenactment group from South Wales who represent my dads old regiment have asked if they could be there so 12 of them with jeeps and uniforms weapons will be there also spoke to him last night and he is really overwhelmed by people's interest .
The head of the reenactment group sent an image yesterday of a gift they are going to present him and its awesome , they also want to drive him into the village in a jeep , my mum has started calling the trip "saving Private Edwards "lol she kills me .
The school are providing food wine it would appear that some children have postponed trips just to make sure they are there .
I will take lots of pics and post hopefully when I am there

Chris this is actually the script for Kellys Heroes.......you're not planning on carrying out a heist ?
I hope everyone has a ball and that your Dad and his mate have loads of fun and smiles .... that's the way to honour their comrades......celebrating them and remembering them.

Hell Del. you are on to us lol ,like dad says it was in every way a cast of thousands he was just one of the lucky ones that has been able to come back for an encore .
