The yellowest family in the world!

On December 17, 1989, the first episode of the animated series "The Simpsons" was broadcast on television in the USA, and it has since developed into a cult series that apparently cannot be killed!

In the early episodes, Homer (the chronically unsuccessful nuclear power plant safety inspector with no professional qualifications whatsoever)...

... his wife, Marjorie "Marge" Simpson, née Bouvier, (housewife with towering blue hairdo)...

... his wayward son Bart (his name is an anagram for "brat", meaning a misbehaving child)...

... the highly intelligent daughter Lisa (who therefore has no girlfriends)...

... and baby Margaret "Maggie" Simpson (who always loudly sucks on her pacifier)...

... a little bit different from what we know today...:

Producer Matt Groening...

... by the way, deliberately let the series take place in a small town called "Springfield", since this is by far the most common city name in the USA - in order to symbolize the arbitrariness of the plot that can be transferred to any other place...

The time of this longest TV cartoon series of all time (31 seasons over 650 episodes) also left its mark on Matt Groening...

... he also appears in the series from time to time, of course also as a yellow comic figure...:

The Simpsons, on the other hand, never ages! Homer is always 36 (or 42) years old, Marge 34, Bart 10 (exactly two years and 38 days older than Lisa (8) - and baby Maggie is always one year old!

Once the series even wrote television history:

In the cosmos of the "Simpsons" Donald Trump became president in 2000 - 17 years before this really happened...!
