The reason I've been a bit quiet. Pegaso's 75mm Decurio Equitum.
The shield design I based on a 3rd century shield found at Dura Europus in Sryria.
Painted in a mix of Vallejo, Jo Sonja and Matisse acrylics. For the metals, the bronze/golds were done with Darkstar Miniatures Molten metal paints. And the iron/steel, done with Scale 75's Metal N' Alchemy set.
The Roman coins on the base are replicas.

WOW !!!

That's a good reason to be quiet , like the whole piece but that shield is amazing ...how long did it take ??

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Nap

Thanks Kev.
The shield was done over a weekend. I used a size 1 rigger to get the basic shape. Then went back with a 10/0 brush to enhance the detail

Nice job, I really like the metal parts! How did you made face mask?Epoxy sculpt? On the box art the figure has a open helmet!
Cheers

G'day Roland. The face mask is part of the kit, and to the best of my recollection I may be the first person to actually use it. It's a bit of a fiddly fit, but really adds to the finished kit.

Thanks for the info Macca G, I always wanted to paint a Roman with a face mask in 75mm, because it looks so cool in my opinion! That’s a great info, I defenetly buy this kit!
Thanks
