Afternoon folks

Painting up the Metal Modeles figure of a Lieutenant 25eme Regiment (Demi-Brigade) in Egypt and need to clarify a couple of uniform points since there are no colour instructions included . . .

I spotted that Edward did a lovely version of this one and chose the 61st :)

First off the blue/grey trousers look to have a lace band down the outside seam - any idea what colour (My guess would be gold, but possibly white?)

Secondly any motif on the turnbacks (Probably not at this time, but wanted to check)

Most of my references are for slightly later than this campaign so appreciate any help that you might offer

Cheers
Paul

I only have pics of demi-brigades in egypt wearing white trousers?
Are you certain it's the 61st?
I have on illustrations showing any devices on the
turnbacks of the short tails by the way.
This is my only pic of the 61st.

best wishes.

Paul.

Thanks Paul - The figure is actually a Lieutenant of the 25th although I've seen one painted as one of the 61st.
Typical uniform of the period with the long baggy tails on the jacket. he's a pair of trousers on rather than leggings and boots, but there was a fair bit of leeway for dress in this period and a lot of uniform variations are apparent.
Cheers

Terrific Jai - I'll use those for starters. I'm going with blue (or possibly gold) stripes on the trousers and grenades on the turnbacks unless someone knows better

Thanks for your helps chaps

According to the Osprey source I used, the 61st had their jackets replaced with violet ones as they ran out of dye, and the facings were dark blue.
