Depends. Can you be specific?
Actually you can look it up yourself quite easily. If you have the names of two products you're curious about do a search in Google for the MSDS for each and if you can't find it online (most are available somewhere) contact the maker directly; then compare the ingredients. You'll find that in many cases the CAS numbers of the constituent hydrocarbon(s) is/are the same in a hardware-store product sold in 5 litre/1 gallon amounts and a small bottle in an artists' shop, with the obvious contrast in price.
Although the purity of something made for artist may be higher in some cases given what we're doing I would suggest you buy a cheap low-odour mineral spirit (OMS) from your local hardware store, any reliable brand will do. If you want to buy an artists' material then I would recommend Sansodor from Winsor & Newton, this has a very slight odour, good solvent action and a higher flash point than many products of its type, making it very safe to use in a domestic environment.
