Hey All,

My wife just bought me a new digital camera and she was told it has macro, was wondering if anyone here has this model and if so how does it do in taking figure pics? It's a Canon power shot A70.

Thomas

Hey Thomas!

Awesome! Now we can see your figures more often! As for the macro mode on your camera, I really have no idea :(

Look for the flower looking symbol somewhere, thats the macro mode symbol, maybe thats of some help.

ya im hoping the guy told my wife correctly but it came with three different books nad im lookin them over but man what alot of technical mumbo jumbo, lol

Hi Thomas ! Anders is right, look for the "flower" symbol on the camera, that indicates the Macro mode.I personally have the Powershot A60.As you can see from my postings, with the timer in use,built-in flash off and a good tripod,it gives pretty decent pictures. The A70 should be slightly better.HTH.Cheers !
Kenneth

Hi Thomas.
Most of the pictures you can see in my workbench were taken with a Canon A70
Good camera.
Actually I've bought a 5Mp Nikon Coolpix to reach publishing quality ;)

Usually I choose the P mode, place the figure and press the macro button(the flower).
Then I put the zoom in the nearest position and move the figure back or ahead until Ican focuse it.Then,I shot

Enjoy your camera and show us the results.
Best regards
jaume

Thomas, I would look for a review of your camera on the net, I'm sure there's info out there on it's macro capabilities.~Gary

Thanks for all the tips guys and thanks for that site Vince (y)
Im learning the ins and outs of that camera slowly.
As Jaume said it is a nice little camera, will have something to show you soon.
