Mainly I'm still trying to get to grips with acrylics after years as an oil painter and using old kits for a while until I'm happy with my efforts then I'll start on my latest kits .

To answer your question I would say that it looks natural, breaking from the cover of the tree. The blanket roll looks very well painted, as does the rest.

Works for me Chippy, he has the appearance of cautiously creeping forward from cover, looks like your work with the acrylics is getting better mate.

Chippy, the fact he's holding the tree with his left hand makes him look as if he's stepping over . Nice painting. (y)

Cheers Ken

Thanks everyone for your comments , I could'nt really get the running position out of my mind and maybe a guilty that I had'nt put any work into the new pose . I'll now press on with the rest of the painting and ground work . the tree trunk is a geranium plant , my wife grows then every year and I always take some when they've gone over and dry them out as they a nice root system that make good minature trees .

I agree. He does not appear to be running to me. He appears to be stepping around the tree or over a root (hence the hand on the tree).
