Dolman Miniatures 90mm Vignette of Hans-Joachim Marseille and the tail wedge of his Messerschmitt Bf 109F4Trop 3.JG27 Yellow 14

From WikiPedia;

Hans-Joachim Marseille was a German Luftwaffe fighter pilot and flying ace during World War II. He is noted for his aerial battles during the North African Campaign and his Bohemian lifestyle. One of the most successful fighter pilots, he was nicknamed the "Star of Africa". Marseille claimed all but seven of his 158 victories against the British Commonwealth's Desert Air Force over North Africa, flying the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter for his entire combat career. No other pilot claimed as many Western Allied aircraft as Marseille.

A few Photos from the web of Hans;

Hi Steve

Nice choice of subject , Presume when purchasing you have a choice ....part resin/white metal or full resin ?

Good start , there looks like there's a casting line on the underside of the crown on the cap

Be interesting to see how the flesh looks as it dries then you can adjust the tone

Have fun @ the bench

Casting line has gone.

Wasn’t liking his face, so stripped it back to the metal and will start again, at the mo he looks like something from a horror film, back to the oils in the next couple of days.

Steve, nice one, lovely figure which despite teething problems I'm sure you're going to make a good job of. Frustrating when it doesn't go right first time but like you say it's a learning opportunity every time, just not fair we have to learn from mistakes rather than good results, oh well no one ever said life was fair.

Cheers Simon

Thought I had already posted this, but stripped his face back and then started again, much much more happier with him now.

Good old hairy sticks for the figure.
Hahaha; not planning on airbrushing anything big, just using it for primer and flesh base coats (at the mo)
