Following on from my review of this piece Here. I have already got the body put together and primed, along with the two heads;

They will be coming with me down to St.Ives for a week, so can hopefully get some paint on them.

So, which version will you do Steve? I'm still considering getting one, I fancy doing a Kuifje (the Dutch name for Tintin) version, in the cartoon style.

I was going with a black leather jacket as per the film, but fancy trying a brown one instead so probably go Tintin but will paint up both heads. Tintin has more facial definition

The thing that's stopped me from buying one straight away, is that the clothing is wrong for Tintin. He always wears plusfours, and a trenchcoat. As I want to paint him in the cartoon style (bold block colours, with strong outlines), he really should wear the same outfit as in the cartoons.

Weather is a bit hit and miss, but at least its not home and a break away and views are stunning from the cottage.

Food is quite amazing. plus a great place to visit if ever down this way is the 'Rum and Crab Shack' for a cheeky afternoon cocktail.

Welcome to God's country, Steve......inspirational eh?

Mike

Just a bit!

You lucky man. I've stayed in St Ives many, many times, but taking resin to paint would have resulted in divorce. Have one at The Sloop Inn for me.

Got some AK Ultra Flat varnish on his face, looks a lot better now, not so glossy !

Have started on his 'brown' leather jacket, just a trial on his arm first to check out the process;

Hi Steve

That AK Matt certainly works well on the flesh

If I may ....Are the arms in place , looks like a tiny bit of filler might be needed

I would probably put a wash over the hair

This is certainly a challenge and will look good

Thanks for updates
