I've started the arms of Moz's superb NI bust. The colours are just blocked in, with no shading and highlighting. They'll appear bright, as they need toning down with the unifying wash. My question is, is the pattern right? I've copied one of my jackets, so it should be right, but it looks too big to me.
Cheers,

Its always difficult carl getting the scale right with camofluage,i've not done any NI british camo before, from the picture it looks ok to me,if it feels right carl then stick with it,if you still think it dosent look right and your'e not happy with it then sart again mate.

The DPM looks fine to me. I like the background colour, the older yellower shade. I can't wait to see the DPM after washes and shading as i need to learn how to do it a bit better in the future

The colours look very good on this Carl. It's a superb figure and am looking forward to seeing the completed model. There's certainly alot of area to cover on these 200mm scale figures.
Good luck with it.

Thanks for having a look. It looks much better now I've muted and shaded it, I can't take any photos in the dark.

Carl:

Great looking start. What colours are you using? It always seemed to me to be the yellow that could make or break the DPM, and you seemed have found a good dull mustard tone.

I've got mine on order but I will be following this thread in the meantime.

Cheers
Paul

Thanks Paul, the colours are: Vallejo Green Ochre 914(base) Andrea Army Green NAC 09, Panzer Aces Leather belt 312 with a touch of red. I added a touch of the base to everything to help unify it all. Oh, and the black is, well black with a touch of the ochre again. I've now given it all a controlled wash of German camo beige, but any light colour would do. To the wash I added a drop of glaze medium, improves the transparency, and stops it drying too quickly. Help prevent Tide marks.

Looks spot on mate, as said above if it feels right it probably is right, great start........!

Hi, only my two pence, I`ve just gone through a few of m old photos of NI, and all our kit seemed to be well washed through, the brand new colours well washed out,
