Hi! Eddy.
Indeed you showed me the work which is Great.
I was quite moved.
The excellent color tone and gradation.
I think the atmosphere by which only you can create this atmosphere.
I congratulate completion.

This is one of the most impressive painting jobs I have ever seen! Thanks for showing it Eddie. Would you mind sharing how you painted his beard?

Thanks

Gary

Thank you very much for the kind words, Gary!
Very much appreciated, my friend!

For the beard I used first a base of humbrol 63 mat sand.
Than overnight I made a mixture of burned sienna added some brown madder alizarine, Than highlighted with some burned sienna added with some english red, again highlighted but added some ochre to that mixture, again added some naples yellow to the mixture.
Put aside overnight and where you can see the white, well it's a little bit of Gris Chaud (translated Warm Grey), from Rembrand added some white and on the top of the white, I added more white, softly blend toghether with a little bit of the base where it changes in to the red (english red and ochre), that's about it, hopes this helps,
If you need more information, just ask, mate,
Cheers,
Eddy

Wow Eddy. Thanks! Your patience and forethought goes to show just how much work goes into figure painting. It certainly pays off! (y)

I'll try my best on the bust I'm painting.

Thanks again,

Gary
