Geoff Charman
A Fixture
When I purchased Bill Speakman VC from Sarnia I saw this bust and liked it so I have had this on the back-burner for a little while.
I painted the face the same time as I painted Speakman's to save the Artist's oils wasting. so the rest has now had the base colours blocked in and the waist sash I added the shade areas with a darker colour then blocked in a thinned red washed, more of this to follow.
The leather cross straps are in Artist's oils, both slightly different brown mixes, the metalwork is AK Gunmetal. The thick buff coat I used Vallejo MC 914/119 Green Ochre.
Again I used Artist's oils to cover the felt hat Paynes Grey straight from the tube and stippled it on using a brush like this:
.
Pleased with this felt look texture result but will have to wait for this to fully dry before touching it.
The gauntlet and the pike still need some paint but I used the AK Gunmetal on the pointy bit.
That's it for now,
Cheers Geoff
