Hi Cyrill

Apologies I missed this, painted in a month...WOW!!!

Very vibrant in the painting , nice to see without the great helm as well

The way you’ve painted the heraldry looks good .....that would have drove me crazy ! .....very neatly done as well and in metallics !

Like the moustache being seen adds more to the face area

Thanks for sharing

Looking forward to seeing more

Have fun in the bench

Wonderful work, Cyrill !!

I completely agree with you that Vallejo Liquid Gold is the best colour for shiny gold. I too am still looking for an acrylic based alternative. Because it is very difficult to paint over the Liquid Gold with acrylic paint, as the acrylic paint then ‘’shrinks‘’ and ‘’cracks‘’ appear in the applied acrylic paint. The paint also dries very quickly.

It would be interesting to hear from other painters which golden acrylic paint they think is the best. @Nap: Or is there already a corresponding section in PlanetFigure? For me it is AK11191 Gold....

P.S. for Cyrill: I also painted the helmets of the Archbishop of Cologne from Altores with Vallejo Liquid Gold.

Thanks, Michael. Thought it looked familiar. The Vallejo Metal Color range has a gold, but it's very bright with a greenish tint which I don't particularly like (I used it for the trim on the jupon of the knight here)

You can offset that by mixing in copper or even non-metallic acrylic paints - I experimented with different ratios but it just doesn't come close to the Liquid Gold range.

Cheers
Cyrill
