Recently I dived in the fantasy miniatures again. I know it's not really the place to post them, but it's gonna be ages before I'll start something historical again. Well maybe not ages in traditional meaning of the word, but still pretty long, as I'm currently doing a project Team(w)Orc that contains 3 pieces (a 50mm mini and two massive busts).

At this point the smaller bust is the one most advanced in painting, so I decided to show it here.

Ladies and Gentelmen, let me introduce you Einstein:

At this point only the apron is more or less finished, googles rather far on the way (even though I need to repaint lenses and add much more weathering).
I added the patch on his back to paint his name later. I guess I'm going here for a car mechanic look, and orc from the 'pit stop' on some weird orcish vehicle racing.
Surprisingly face is almost only basecoated, airbrushed from 3 angles with base, light and shade. I did some work around his nose and eyes, but lots of work is still needed there. Eyes are more or less done, but I might tweak a colour a bit later on when all the colours are in place.

What do you think?

There is no reason why your work should not be posted here !! a figure is a figure! and this is WIP. I really like your leather work and goggles! Watching this one!

Regards

Mark

Marta this looks great. I particularly like the 'dry' skin look, I know you still plan to do more to the skin but it's good to see something orkish that's not over shiny and slimey looking.
I also like the idea of an Ork having a piece of 'quality' equipment so I wouldn't overweather the goggles, the contrast between them and the apron is unusual and very eye catching.
Cheers
Derek

Hey 'eM I've been following this on your blog, I think it's looking pretty cool. I really like the apron, top work there. Flesh is well airbrushed, looking forward to seeing what you do with the brush.

Alex.

The apron is magnificent Marta

I know you intend to weather the goggles but they look fab as they are IMO.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out!

Hi Marta
Good start so far on a brillaint Carrasco sculpt! full of caractor and just a bit Paul Bonner:happy: Your making a great start on him so far
i will also be following on P.B also!! Cheers Gerry.

I'm glad you like him;]
I hope I can finish him on a high;p

But last few days I've been focusing on different things (JMD reviews, medieval bust, real life and sadly work...) so I did just a little. Mostly some oxidation on the googles
I'm not sure if it's visible here but this place is very difficult to take a photo:(

Looks great Em I really like this one and as the others have said of course there's a place for it here. My 13yr old son thinks it's "really cool" as well :smug:

Nicely pulled together with the orange / reds in the eyes, lenses and shirt (y)
Just the right amount of strong colour without overwhelming the piece.
Cheers

Some more work done. Mostly on his face and name tag at the back.
Ears at the back look still a bit patchy, and boring... Not sure what I could do to make it a bit more interesting. Some sort of a freehand, like a pattern on the skin or what?

Looks great to me (y). Maybe a couple of piercings with brass rings on one of the ears.
But to be honest he might be one of those Orcs who wash behind their ears :)

I like it the way it is myself but if you have to do something with the ears a tattoo or similar maybe ? Or knowing Orcs some nasty looking rash :yuck:
