I'm interested in trying to find several EMI figures (OOP) from their Warlord (medieval) series to add to my "gray army". Before I start my quest, I'm looking for input and/or opinions as to the quality of their figures. Any replies pro or con will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chuck

Hi Chuck!
I can´t speak for other members but EMI was one of the top brands in the hobby. I own some of their products from the "Gladius" and the "Miles" - series. All of them were high quality castings and sculpts. Their products were usually meticously researched as well. The "Warlord" series had more static poses and I am not sure if the same sculptors (like Adriano Laruccia) contributed works for this series as they did to the two other lines I mentioned. So I would say if you like what you see (on the boxart) you should add the figures to your gray army. The standards for casting and research were the same for all EMI products.
Hope that helps!
Cheers, Martin

Hi Chuck
I have a bunch of them they are kind of almost modular in ways. The sculpting is good on some superb, subjects got weird at times. Their accessory sets where horrid.
In there day they where the best around. Also being almost modular with the warlords conversion was easy.

Thanks Paul for the additional info.

Did any of the figures you had, have the marking for the coat of arms lightly ingraved into to figure to act as a guide for painting?

Hi Chuck
No there was no relief at all just a flat surface as per the modular concept no real definitive marking.
Have a bunch of Nemix photo etch heraldry sets, you could glue on or use as a stencil either or.
Cheers
