I was wondering if one can successfully apply Humbrol enamel over oil? My reason for asking is that I lay down a base coat of enamel to block in the colours, and then paint over with oils. While I am able to lift off any oil from areas it shouldn't be with thinners, sometimes I miss a few spots. When I then apply oil, at times some of these dark spots of oils where they shouldn't be can be seen through the the correct colour oil paint, for example blue when painted over with red, or dark colours on white cross belts. They are only small. I was wondering if touching up the area with the original enamel colour before applying oils would work without unsatisfactory results in time, similar to applying acrylic over oils. Probably a dumb question, and I guess I could try but I am not sure what the result would be sometime afterwards. Any advice would be appreciated.
Regards
Chris

Chris, you could always seal you work with varnish, such as Dull Coat, or others, then work the area as needed. I've never used enamels over oils personally, but like everyone has mentioned, if it's cured, you're good.
