English Knight

Hi all,

Here's the finished pics of the English Knight I showed in progress recently. I got some very good feedback and pointers from Calvin Tan on improving the finishing and have incorporated whatever I could, short of stripping the entire thing down again! Thanks Calvin for the pointers.

I would love to receive some critical feedback / suggestions for improvements.

Also, I definitely would not be in a position to comment on historical accuracy but all input welcome.

You have done this figure justice, it has come out great from the face to the tunic designs. The simple base sets it off nicely. Awesome stuff.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the encouraging feedback.

The heraldry was painted on using a stencil from Tommi Worton (http://tommi-miniatures.moonfruit.com). Was a bit difficult to cut and a bit on the small side (which explains why I painted a white border) but once I got it on it worked like a charm.

As this figures is in metal, the metal was polished and washed with black and burnt sienna oils (in rust prone areas) similar to Steve Weakley method (reference HM mag.). Not difficult just takes a lot of patience to get the polishing done.

BTW, it was tough assembling this figure even with pinning and fast curing epoxy. Having to hold things together while they cured was a pain. Am now looking for an industrial strength, gap filling glue from Loctite to solve that.

Hardy - Calvin and I were coincidentally talking about your work as he gave me those pointers! Your work's an inspiration for me!
