Originally a Sarnia Miniatures SS bust in Mess dress

Converted to a Luftwaffe Flak Regt Officer in Formal Mess Dress

Replaced the aguilette and reworked waistcoat and added the awards

Painted in Acrylics and Water Soluable Oils

Name it provided the plate and Pete Watson the base

A Chota Sahib figure of a 17th Lancer in the Crimea 1854, judging by how clean and calm he looks I'd say this is before the fateful charge.

Painted in acrylics and mounted on a Sovereign 2000 resin base.

I tried to give Her a cool skin tone to go with the Winter theme. Hope you Like Her!

Here is my entry with a recently finished figure. Best Soldiers - 75 mm - painted mainly with acrylics.

After a 20 year hiatus from the hobby, I dug out of the grey army this conversion I'd started all those years ago and decided to see if I could relearn how to paint. The figure is 54mm and is painted in oils with some printers ink highlights.

The figure represents Lee Marvin's character of gunslinger Tim Strawn in the movie Cat Ballou, a favorite film of my youth. Strawn's distinguishing feature was the silver nosepiece that took the place of the nose that had been bitten off in a fight.

I got the inspiration when I found a head that bore a passing resemblance to Marvin. From there I found one figure for the torso and another for the waist down portion. I believe I altered the right arm and hand to hold the Winchester but can't be sure after all this time (the figure had already been primed).

To the head I added the moustache, accentuated the cleft chin, modified the hair and neck scarf, and created the hat, nose cover and strap.

On the lower portion I removed the few gun belt cartridges on the original and added more, added a strap to the back of the vest, created the leather knee straps, fashioned more substantial spurs, and added details to the watch chain based on what could be gleaned from movie stills.

My second entry to the competition is one of my more recent projects, Tirailleur Senegalese c.1900. This chap was built on the stripped back body of an Airfix Multipose Figure, using mostly Magicsculpt and post it note paper. The trumpet is an Historex spare part and the rifle comes from G&G of Italy. He is painted entirely in acrylics and mounted on a resin plinth from Sovereign 2000.
